Known as one of the locals favourite restaurants in Port Douglas … Salsa Bar & Grill is located in the heart of town. With Head Chef Goran Zonai showcasing his Masters in Cookery through his dynamic and vibrant menu, it’s the feature of fresh local produce on the menu of this Port Douglas restaurant coupled with the fun and professional¬†waitstaff that continues to bring people back, time after time.

Owned by Bill Conway and Rhys Bawden, Salsa Bar & Grill has been welcoming visitors and locals through its door for over 22 years. It has attracted celebrities, professional athletes and politicians and is one of the most in demand restaurants in town. It is common knowledge within the community that during the winter months that coincide with high season, a reservation for dinner needs to be made with at least two weeks notice.

With views across the park to St Mary’s by the Sea, across the Dickson Inlet and to Thorntons Peak in the Daintree Rainforest, the location is perfect for long, lazy lunches, wedding receptions, tapas and cocktails in the afternoon or fun group bookings for dinner. A must-do while at Salsa is to check out the ‘ceiling of autographs’ with a special mention to the one on the wall in front of the kitchen – a plate signed by Bill Clinton on September 11, 2001 …

Along the journey of the 22 years, Salsa Bar & Grill has continually been recognised by its peers in both the State and National Savour Australia Restaurant & Caterers Awards. Taking out the win most years for Best Contemporary Restaurant, it was the 2014 win in the National Awards, winning Best Restaurant Caterer.
